Cheap courier vs mailing service

Over the past few months I’ve been sending items that are quite important, I usually send about two of these items off every day, depending on the client I am working with they may be documents I need to send off or they may be usual package that I get my secretary to send off. They usually need to reach their occupant within 3 days. The problem I have is which do I use out of a Cheap Courier or a Mailing service. The Cheap courier vs mailing service situation doesn’t get any easier. On one hand if I use a mailing company I run the risk of not getting my document in on time. They say that the item should be delivered within 3 days and to be honest the majority of the time they are. However, some of the time, it is different. There have been occasions when a cheap courier would have been a better option to use. However good the mailing service is, it doesn’t and will never top the security and efficiency of the cheap courier. The main problem is this, I don’t know when the parcel will be delivered at the moment, but should I use a cheap courier then I will know exactly when the parcel will be delivered, I will also get the cheap courier to get the parcel signed at its final destination. It seems a shame that I may have to use a courier because most of the time I am not let down, but when I am let down, it can really slow things down on the business side. A cheap courier across town, hear about my situation through a close friend and offered to give me 15% of if I decide to use them on a regular basis. However for the 2 and half weeks I would have had to use the cheap courier anyways, because the mailing service has been on time. So I am truly stuck in the middle, do I use a cheap courier or don’t I use a cheap courier? The choice is entirely up to me, you may think this is a good thing but it’s not. If I had a boss I would just ask him whether I should use the cheap courier or not and when his answer was posed, I would know what to do, ah the problems of running your own company. I’m pretty sure I’m going to have to end up using a cheap courier for safety, quality and speed are both as important as ever.
